"I like that Simon doesn't hesitate to get into the training and competition environment and meet athletes where they're at. He also demonstrates a great passion for sport and genuine care for athletes as human beings. I would highly recommend Simon for mental coaching! He is personable, extremely knowledgeable and effective."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. I hold a PhD in sport psychology, and am a professional member with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association, but I am not a registered psychologist. Only those members who meet licensing/registering requirements from a psychology regulatory body (i.e., Provincial/Territorial Colleges of Psychologists) are able to use the term “psychologist”.

  • No. Mental performance consultants are not covered by insurance.

  • There is no one-size-fits-all when working on the mental game.

Similar to working on your golf swing, going to the gym, or eating healthy, it can take anywhere from a handful of sessions over a few weeks, to multiple sessions over a period of a few months to notice any changes.

There are so many factors that can influence how quickly we can progress.

A very broad ballpark range would be anywhere from 4- 8 sessions until we might be able to recognize some noticeable changes in the client's mental game.

In fact, I would encourage you to not look at it in that manner. If anything, having the expectation “I want to see changes in x-amount of sessions” can actually add pressure and make success more challenging to accomplish!

  • No! I work with athletes of all ages and skill levels.

  • The majority of sessions take place online, using a video-chat platform. That way you, or your child don’t have to worry about driving anywhere and can enjoy chatting from the comfort of your home.

  • I have worked with a variety of individual and team sports and am comfortable with any environment.

I have worked with athletes from a variety of different sports, including but not limited to: golf, swimming, volleyball, rowing, sailing, canoe-kayak, badminton, snowboard, soccer, field hockey, ice hockey.
